Macy’s, the world famous New York department store, is launching a series of NFTs highlighting their iconic 4th July fireworks display and parade. In fact, the 9,500 NFTs are entirely free! With American Independence Day just around the corner, Macy’s is offering this collection to celebrate the occasion.
If you want to get your hands on one of these unique NFTs, you must register your interest on the new Macy’s Discord channel. The closing date for registration is 27th June, and the airdrop will commence shortly after.
There are three levels of rarity for the NFTs. They come in Classic, Rare and Ultra Rare designs. Furthermore, they will highlight details from this year’s Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks celebration. The NFT collection also features some great utility. This includes accessing Augmented Reality wearables that will work on social media and various platforms.
“These free Macy’s Fireworks NFTs will help attract a new set of fans with an easy-to-access implementation that democratizes this emerging space for a mass audience while also embracing a digitally native audience with added utilities, including Augmented Reality wearables,” said Will Coss, executive producer of Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks.
It is the next step by Macy’s into Web3 as they explore how to use the technology in the best way for their customer’s needs. They will drop more NFT surprises via Discord and the website in the coming weeks.
Finally, the Macy’s New York NFTs are built onto the Polygon Network. Macy’s wants to focus on eco-friendly solutions within the NFT space.
